About this event in the Jura in Salins-les-Bains
Michaël Hirsch in search of joy
In “Y’a d’la joie”, presented at Salle Notre Dame in Salins-les-Bains, Michaël Hirsch turns his quest for the joy of living into a comic one-man show. The writer and actor has tried every possible and imaginable technique to become happier. Instagram quotes, meditation, organisational methods: he has scrupulously followed the principles of personal development. All in vain, as he is no happier than before!
From these attempts, he draws observations and conclusions which he shares with humour. Brilliant puns and wordplay fuel this hilarious one-man show, in which the search for happiness also involves letting go of certainties.
A quest between theatre and the visual arts
The show opens with the artist perched on top of a structure. This symbolises his desire to rise higher and surpass himself. Mikaël Chirinian’s staging sits at the crossroads of theatre and the visual arts, casting a sympathetic eye over the actor’s journey.
Michaël Hirsch then takes the less-travelled paths to happiness. Surprising encounters and practical tests punctuate his exploration of a state he never thought he was destined to experience. Following in the footsteps of Raymond Devos, this master wordsmith and physical comedian combines humour, poetry and reflection.
This inner exploration, full of emotion and hope, offers a reflection on joy that is presented as particularly enlightening for the audience.
Running time and booking
This comedy show is suitable for all audiences and lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. Bookings can be made at the offices of the Office de Tourisme Arbois Poligny Salins Coeur du Jura.
Another date is announced in March: Friday 5, at L’Oppidum in Champagnole.
Les Scènes du Jura : thirty years of cultural ambition
The organiser is Les Scènes du Jura. The organisation was founded in 1996 by bringing together the two Italian-style municipal theatres in Dole and Lons-le-Saunier. The aim was to develop a strong cultural organisation reaching across the entire department.
Its story is one of gentle expansion, shaped by determination, places and shared convictions. The founding agreement between two municipal teams was followed by support from multiple partners, now bringing together no fewer than thirteen local authorities. In 2013, the French state recognised this approach by awarding the organisation the “Scène nationale” designation.
This collective ambition has been, and continues to be, embodied in people and personalities, mandates and commitments. Thirty years of cultural policy have thus been built act by act, institution by institution.
One conviction underpins this history: artistic creation, presentation and education belong to everyone in the Jura, from town centres to small towns and the most remote villages. This dream come true is both a story to remember and one to celebrate together throughout a season full of… surprises!
