La Cabiotte is organising a sociable coach trip departing from Salins-les-Bains to discover the Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne. The meeting point is place des Salines. At the destination, this unique museum is devoted to works created outside traditional art circles.
Creations outside the norms
Art Brut brings together free, distinctive and often surprising creations. Their makers are self-taught artists who work outside cultural or academic norms.
The museum displays, among other things, part of its permanent collection. It includes works by major artists such as Aloïse Corbaz, Augustin Lesage, Marguerite Sirvins and Auguste Walla.
An institution at the Château de Beaulieu
Housed in the Château de Beaulieu in Lausanne, the Collection de l’Art Brut was founded following Jean Dubuffet's donation to the City of Lausanne. Open to the public since 1976, it is a leading institution in its field.
