In Arbois, La Pierre qui Encre presents lithography at the Tour Gloriette: explanations, demonstrations and historic stones.
About this event in the Jura in Arbois
Lithography at the Tour Gloriette
In Arbois, “Skål, wine stone” showcases La Pierre qui Encre, a studio and exhibition space housed in the Tour Gloriette, a 16th-century building. The studio offers an opportunity to explore a distinctive feature of lithography: producing a print without engraving the material.
Explanations and demonstrations help visitors understand the technique. They use a hand press and equipment dating from the mid-19th century, central to the work presented in the studio.
Patrice Gouttefanjat’s journey
After taking drawing and lithography classes and courses in the Jura and Alsace, Patrice Gouttefanjat established himself at the Tour Gloriette in 2013. This self-taught artist, described as passionate and engaging, expresses his love of drawing and lithographic technique through his creations.
His works are made entirely by hand, on a press he restored himself. The venue thus brings together his studio, his creations and the tools he works with.
What the studio and exhibition space offers
Visitors can drop in or make an appointment to discover the studio, with activities including:
