Tomás Alegre in recital at the Château
Château de Verges hosts a recital by Argentinian concert pianist Tomás Alegre. Born in Buenos Aires in 1992, he first performed in public at the age of 12 with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12, K. 415.
From Geneva to Madrid, two complementary stages
Spotted by Martha Argerich in 2011, Tomás Alegre continued his studies in Geneva, then Madrid. He regards these two stages as complementary parts of his musical journey.
With Goerner, he developed his technique and broadened his repertoire. His work with Bashkirov enabled him to refine his interpretation and his attention to the details of the score.
A career praised by masters and critics
Through distinctions and awards, his career has earned the appreciation of leading figures in classical music: Martha Argerich, Günter Pichler, Joaquín Achúcarro and Eldar Nebolsin.
On his return to the Teatro Colón, critics acclaimed his expressiveness. They described him as a craftsman capable of revealing the true essence of the works he performs.
A wide-ranging repertoire
His repertoire includes works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. He recently made his North American debut on a concert tour that included the prestigious Salle Bourgie in Montreal.
