About this event in the Jura in Salins-les-Bains

Three laps after nightfall in the salt town

The Corrida nocturne is an 8.6 km running race with 220 m of elevation gain in Salins-les-Bains. The course consists of three laps, passing twice beneath the vaults of the Grande Saline and climbing the Arçon steps twice, surrounded by spectators.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Grande Saline is opening a route through a monument that no one has ever run through before. Its 165-metre vaulted medieval gallery will be illuminated for the occasion. The ground there is uneven and the pace restrained.

From the start on allée Marcou to the finish on place de la Mairie

After the favourites have been introduced, the race will start on allée Marcou, beneath the arch and floodlights. Another highlight of the course, the climb up the Arçon steps, will also be illuminated, with a commentator at the top and spectators on either side.

The finish leads onto place de la Mairie, with an arena-like atmosphere. There will be a refreshments stand, and the awards ceremony is scheduled for 21:30.
