About this event in the Jura in Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux
Marceline on the trail of Ulysses
‘Happy is she who, like Marceline, has made a long journey…’ Grandval Orchestra reunites with its heroine for the concert MARCELINE’S ODYSSEY at La Sittelle in Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux. Organised by Grandval Orchestra under the direction of Théo Feuvrier, this new musical journey takes the form of an adventure through time.
Marceline, now dear to the hearts of music lovers in Grandvaux, this time crosses paths with Ulysses, the legendary hero of The Odyssey. Everything seems to set these two characters apart: their meeting promises sparks and a delightful clash of cultures. For this unexpected adventure, Marceline keeps her usual weapons: humour, quick wit and solid common sense.
From women composers to The Odyssey Symphony
The programme gives particular prominence to women composers, with works by Carol Barnett, Jodie Blackshaw and Julie Giroux. The journey continues with Robert W. Smith’s monumental The Odyssey Symphony, performed in its entirety.
This new stop in Marceline’s world celebrates travel, discovery and the pleasure of sharing music. Time travel is suggested as a possible subtitle for this 2026 edition.
Two performances in January
The concerts are announced for Saturday 23 January at 20:30 and Sunday 24 January 2027 at 15:00, at La Sittelle.
