About this event in the Jura in Arbois
The history of appellations of origin
In Arbois, the Musée de la Vigne et du Vin du Jura, housed in Château Pécauld, hosts the INAO 90th anniversary exhibition. Marking the 90th anniversary of the celebrated Arbois and Château-Chalon AOCs, this event celebrates French wine-growing history.
Developed in collaboration with the Institut National de l’Origine et de la Qualité, the exhibition traces the evolution of appellations of origin and the recognition of terroirs. It explores the history of these appellations through the importance given to the land and to wine-growing expertise.
A journey through wine-growing heritage
This themed visit invites young and old to explore a living heritage. Vineyard skills and the attachment to the lands of the Jura are central to the exhibition, which is aimed particularly at enthusiasts of oenology and local history.
Dates and museum admission
The exhibition runs from 1 September to 31 December 2026, with a brief closure on 25 December. Access to the exhibition is included in standard museum admission, priced at €4.
For other outings in the Arbois vineyards, the Jura events calendar also brings together ideas for walks and cultural activities.
